After the earthquake hit Nepal in 2015, 8 Saving Lives samaritans came together in hope to provide humanitarian assistance for the people affected. Response was extremely challenging in the aftermath of the devastation.

Many places remained in debris. Reconstruction work was slow, especially in the remote areas. The poorest and most vulnerable, were hit the hardest.

The top priority was to provide the impoverished with proper roofing to weather the rain and winter. The villagers, mostly illiterate, had to walk for hours if not days to apply for a tin roof from the government, which will take 3 to 5 years to materialise.

On 5 August 2016, the group rushed to purchase and deliver the tin roofs to the villagers with donations solicited from friends and family, before the winter began for the mountainous terrain. However, the funds raised were only sufficient to help 30% of the needy.
